Shops at Legacy
The Shops at Legacy is an upscale mixed-use development of retail shops, office buildings and residential units at the busy intersection of Legacy Road and Dallas Parkway. Rogers-O’Brien completed the phased construction of the shell and interior finish-out of various retail, office and restaurants, as well as five parking garages – totaling approximately 345,000 SF. Since The Shops at Legacy was operational when Rogers-O’Brien began work, the team worked diligently with the development team and retail store owners to implement a construction approach that did not disturb their business or the flow of traffic within the busy mixed-use development. They are located in the heart of Legacy Town Center, a 168 acre mixed-use development.
The Shops at Legacy Plano’s massive, 255,000-square-foot Shops at Legacy opened in 2001 with only a handful of stores. Five years later, the center is booming, with more than 60 boutiques and 18 restaurants. Plano’s premier shopping district can be found nestled between the roadways just on the edge of the North Dallas Tollway. A colossal conglomeration of high-street names and boutiques, family-friendly eateries, coffee shops and cinemas, the Shops at Legacy mall is the undisputed go to place for a spot of retail therapy in Plano. Visitors can expect the likes of Brooklyn + West for high fashion straight out of LA, Elaine Turner for cosmopolitan and stylish jewelry and clothes, Culinary Connection for bespoke cutlery and tableware, Oil & Vinegar for top-quality olive products – the list goes on and once the shopping’s done, retire to one of the chain restaurants for a plate of Tex-Mex or all-American food. Enjoy live music year-round, every Saturday from 6:30-9:30 pm on the South Side of The Shops at Legacy.
The creation of Legacy Town Center represents the first instance of the town center concept being applied to an existing business park development. The Town Center is situated within Legacy Business Park, a 2,600 acre office park consisting of over 15 million square feet of office and 55,000 employee – and home to Fortune 500 companies J.C. Penney, Dr. Pepper-Snapple Group, and Yum Brands.
